ThePinkTrends Picks: The Rock Stars and Dud Products Of 2014

ThePinkTrends Picks: The Rock Stars and Dud Products Of 2014

best and worst of 2014

It’s almost the end of the year . Just a day left. Can you believe it? I am sure all of you must be busy making your new year plans and so on. So as my last post for the year 2014, I thought what could be better than telling you about the best and worst products I have used this year.

This year I have bought a lot of stuff, some were part of wedding kit, some great reviews , some blogging keeda( bug) and some just like that. So I am hoping this post will help you pick some really good products for the year 2015.

  • Go for Lakme EyeConic or Colossal. I prefer Eyeconic as it stays longer on me. Eyeconic reviewed here
  • Liquid Eyeliner. Maybelline HyperGlossy Liquid Eyeliner . Reviewed here
  • Gel Liner. Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama
  • Colored Eyeliners. Go for Colorbar or Chambor Dazzle. Colorbar reviewed here

Lakme Eyeconic or Maybelline Colossal Volume Mascara

Eye shadow Palette:

I don’t have much expertise in this area yet. But bought this Coastal Scents Palette which I recommend to all the lovers of neutral shades. Detailed Review coming later.

  • Budget : Go for Colorbar or Lakme 9 to 5 lipsticks. Colorbar Creme Touch Lipstick. Colorbar Nude Coral Reviewed Here
  • Mid-Range:  Revlon Matt Stick especially Sultry . Reviewed here. Highly Recommend. Also, L’Oreal Riche Moist Matte Lipstick. Detailed Review Later.
  • High-Range:  Mac Amplified Creme Range . I tried Mac Fast Play from this range. Reviewed Here

Lip Balms:

  • Budget: Maybelline Baby Lips
  • Mid-Range: Body Shop Strawberry Lip Butter

Sunscreen: L’Oreal Aqua Essence. Reviewed here.

  • Mid-Range: I bought L’Oreal as I had to buy something urgently for a function. Proving to be quite decent. Gives light coverage. Something that I wanted. Detailed Review Coming later.
  • High-Range: : Mac has really great foundation. I would suggest you to spend little more on this area and buy a good foundation. I tried Mac Pro Longwear. Next on list is MAC face and body.

Face Scrubs:

  • Budget: Joves or Lotus Scrubs
  • High-Range: Forest Essential . Detailed Review coming later.

  • Budget: Tresemme and Dove. Though I had some hair fall with Dove and with Tresemme using a good conditioner was must
  • Mid-Range: Loreal Professional Shampoo Range. Detailed Review coming later
  • High-Range: Forest Essential . Detailed Review coming later.

Hair Oil:

  • Budget: Bajaj Almond Oil and Figaro Olive Oil
  • Mid-Range:  Kama Ayurveda Bringadi oil works really well , especially if you have dandruff. Detailed Review coming later.

Also tried this Moroccan Oil which is really great too. But it to be used as serum instead of oil. Reviewed here

Body Wash:

  • Budget: Olay Tone Enriching Ribbons Body Wash
  • Mid-Range: Loved the rose jam body wash from Lush

Body Moisturizer:

  • Budget: Marks and Spencer Peach and Almond Body Lotion
  • High-Range: The Body Shop Body Butters

Maybelline Colorshow Range. My favorites were Fiesty Fushia, Coral Craze, Black Current Pop , Blueberry Ice, Orange Fix. All reviewed on blog.

Food. I never liked Donuts much and never understood why so much hue and cry over it. But Mad over Donuts changed me. Really loved the one I tried there

Place. Goa Goa Goa. Experience Shared Here

Clothes.  I feel every girl should at least own a basic blue jeans and a jet black jeans. Bought a jet black jeans from Vero Moda, which I totally loved this year. Totally worth checking out if you are looking for a good black jeans

Phone: Budget: Moto G. It has everything I needed and is within 15k.

You Can miss these:

  • Lakme Forever Silk. Smudges a lot. Good for smoky eye look though
  • Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner in Navy Blue. It’s actually a very very dark blue. Quite close to black. So I would rather prefer the black one

Scrub: I bought Aroma Magic Coffee Scrub, which is natural but did nothing great for me.   Hair Oil: L’Oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Extraordinary Oil. Did nothing exceptional and I found it to be a regular hair oil.   Lip Balm: Lush Ginger Balm (Hated the smell and taste). FabIndia Lip Balm (Did nothing Great)   Shampoo: Herbal Essence made my hair worse   CC Cream: Garnier CC Cream broke me in just two usage. So I didn’t touch any other CC /BB Cream

That’s it Girls. I hope I am not forgotten to include anything in this list ;)..In case I have, do let me know, I will update the list

Note: I know there are loads of products with Review coming later tag, but this is all I could manage to post in this year.

Finally here’s me wishing all the readers of the ThePinkTrends a very Happy New Year. May the year bring you loads of love and happiness. Thanks for being a part of The PinkTrends and for all the love shown.

So what were your rockstars and duds for the year 2014?
