Hei Everyone,
What a better day to take you through my Switzerland Trip. Today is the Day of Love and Switzerland is the place of Love. It is beautiful beyond imagination. The beautiful and clean landscapes, the warm people, the perfect engineering all makes Switzerland a Dream Destination.
We spent 3 days in Switzerland and have created this short video that takes you through our journey.
Here is the city wise breakdown of our Trip:
Day1: Paris to Basel
We took EuroRail from Paris to Basel so we could enjoy the views. It takes around 6 hours to reach from Paris to major stations in Switzerland and is quite a comfortable journey.
Day2: Trip to Jungfraujoch
Tip1: Check the weather before going to Jungfraujoch. If it is cloudy, you won’t be able to enjoy the spectacular views+ Jungfraujoch will be the costliest part of your trip. But it is worth it. So plan accordingly.
Tip2: There are two routes to reach Jungfraujoch. Remember to take both the routes. Also enjoy a short trekking via EigerWalk. We preferred trekking down.
Possible Routes:
- Interlaken to Kleine Scheidegg via Grindelwald . Grindelwald route has Green scenic views
- Interlaken to Kleine Scheidegg via Lauterbrunnen. Lauterbrunnen route has Rocky views
Day3: Trip to Mount Rigi and Lucerne City
Tip1: We skipped Mount Titlas as we had already been to Jungfraujoch.
Tip2: Take boat ride from Lucerne to Mount Rigi . It is a beautiful journey. Come back and enjoy the vibrant city of Lucerne. Enjoy dining next to lake.
Day4: We spent the day in our beautiful room, enjoying the lake and mountain in front. Then we took a short trip to Giesshbach Falls.
Tip1: Lot of people suggest going to Interlaken. I would say it depends on the place you choose to stay at. If you are staying in a city like Zurich or Lucerne you should go to Interlaken to enjoy the natural beauty. But if you choose to stay in a smaller place (we stayed in Oberried, which is a village) you can enjoy the natural beauty all around you, so you can skip that and enjoy other places.
Final Tip: Try Swiss dairy items. It is yummy. Try Coop supermarket. It is easy to find, usually next to every station and has a huge variety of items. Think of it like Big Bazaar in India. Try milk, cheese, wine. And please don’t compare everything to Indian Rupee. Just enjoy the place and the food 🙂
If you want details on how to plan a trip to Europe. We have already covered it Here.
