‘Other side of HAMPI’ or HAMPI Across the Tungabhadra River is also an interesting place to visit whenever you go to HAMPI, Karnataka. We went to Hampi in September and stayed for 2 nights. While first few days went onto exploring the famous spots of Hampi like Vittala Temple, Virupaksha Temple, Hemukta Hill etc, on third day we planned to visit the other side of Hampi.
Basically hampi is divided into two parts by the Tungabhadra River. One side and the most touristy one, has all temple ruins, the other side is full of lush green Paddy Fields, water running alongside the roads and ‘Anjaneya Temple’ which is said to be birth place of Lord Hanuman.
You can cross the river via Ferry Boat or enjoy Coracle Ride and from the n you can rent a bike/scooty and just roam around.
Anjaneya Temple is situation at a hill top and you need to take 500+ steps to reach the top. It is pretty exhausting but the views from the top is quite refreshing.
